Hello my dear readers!
I went mostly dark on Social Media a few months ago. Since that's a virtual eternity on social media, folks have been reaching out with increasing frequency to make sure I’m okay.
The short answer? I’m doing pretty well. And an update is long overdue.
A big thank you to all of you that reached out to check on me.
The rest of this post is broken up into sections. Feel free to jump to the section(s) that interest you most, or just read the whole thing. Here’s what I’m covering in this post:
What Happened?
Okay… Then why the extra months of social media silence?
What about ADHD Brains Radio? When can we expect more episodes?

What happened as a result of the ThinckFinck Academy survey that was sent out before the family emergency?
What Happened?
During the first week of May, my father-in-law nearly died, and spent a week in the ICU. Initially, it was unclear whether or not he’d make it. We live on the East Coast of the United States. My in-laws live in the southern-Mid-West. As soon as we found out, we dropped everything, packed up the kids, and drove half way across the country (vaccinated), so my wife could see him for what was potentially the last time.
We stayed with my in-laws for 3 weeks as he recovered, and spent a some additional time making rounds to visit my family, while we were out there. Because of COVID, it had been over 18-months since we’d been able to see any of them. We finally returned home after the first week of June.
Okay… Then why the extra time in social media silence?
A lot of reasons, to be honest.
Streamlining Our Home: We had planned on taking the month of May to simplify our living space, purge non-essentials, and optimize our 900 sq. ft. apartment, so that we can run our businesses from home. We wanted to ensure my wife and I each had our own workspaces, with dedicated times for working. We also wanted the kids to have a dedicated place where they can play together; plus, a “safe space” for each of them, which each can use as desired for school work, play, or whatever.
New Plans for an ADHD Membership Community: Initially, I was just going to start offering courses & group coaching this fall at the ThinckFinck Academy. As we gained resources and enough interest from alumni, I was going to start an ADHD Membership Community where we could support each other with with things like Productivity, Mental & Emotional Fitness, Cultivating Better Habits, etc.
In April 2020, someone stepped in, wanting to ensure this community becomes available much sooner. We’ve been working hard, so we can launch the community sometime in August 2021. And now, the community will be available before the Academy begins offering courses & group coaching publicly. Stay tuned for more info!ADHD-Friendly Peak Performance Training Opportunity: A fellow colleague, and well respected ADHD Coach connected me with an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. A Peak Performance Coach Training & Certification for Mental & Emotional Fitness is currently being mostly-funded by a massive grant. Rather than having to wait a year or two to afford the training, the grant made the Coaching Training & Certification affordable for me now!
This means, beginning in the Autumn of 2021, I will be offering an ADHD version of this Peak Performance training for everyday folks in the new Academy! Stay tuned for more info!Re-Branding & Re-building ThinckFinck Academy: Between all the life-events, new ventures, and new opportunities happening this summer, we decided to rebrand the ThinckFinck Academy, We're changing it to something that better matches the vision we have for both the Community and the Academy. I'll be sharing more about this very soon in future posts.
What about ADHD Brains Radio? When can we expect more episodes?
Initially, I had planned to re-launch the podcast in June 2021. However, plans shifted significantly with cascade of unplanned events & opportunities that have continued ot snowball since April 2021. This means I haven’t been able to dedicate the time I had originally planned for doing the podcast.
ADHD Brains Radio is an integral part of my vision and mission for what I’m here to do. So, while it’s not going away, I’ve had to hit the pause button for a little longer, while we’re preparing to launch the Community + Academy for ADHD Adults. All that being said….

Besides converting our conversation(s) to a podcast episode or mini-series, we may partner with the person interviewed to co-create a product, process, or framework that can help other ADHD people more consistently achieve the things they set out to do.Additional, themed, short-form & long-form segments will develop as time & funding allow.
What happened as a result of the ThinckFinck Academy survey that was sent out before the family emergency?
In preparing to launch ThinckFinck Academy, I was given an opportunity to host my courses on a new StartUp platform (Maven). Part of Maven's selection process was to solicit feedback about our courses from at least 100 folks who were highly likely to sign up for the course. I received some fantastic input from over 120 people!
However, with the family emergency popping up, an additional business partnership, doing a complete makeover of ThinckFinck Academy, and the other intensive peak performance coach certification trainings I'm already taking…. I simply didn't have the capacity to add another project this summer with Maven.
Even though it won't be in partnership with Maven, and we've completely re-branded it, the Academy will still be launching this Fall.
I'll be sending a personal email and thank you to the survey participants soon. That email will include responses to some of their feedback, and some early announcements about what we're doing next.
In Summary….
There’s a LOT going on behind the scenes here with ThinckFinck. Even more than what I’ve mentioned in this post.
While life outside of social media continues to be pretty intense… The majority of the things keeping me from Social Media have been good.
I miss all my fellow tweeps in ADHD Twitter community, and all the virtual 1:1's and social events that kept spawning as a result of showing up on ADHD Twitter every day for over a year.
In the coming weeks and months, I'll be slowly easing back in to Twitter & LinkedIn, although not daily. At least not for a while.
My DMs and email are still open. So feel free to reach out, if you'd like to connect. You can find all my links here.
